The Peco PL-10E point motor is a version of the popular Peco PL-10 point motor, however this model has the extended pin designed for below baseboard use.

PL-10E's can be fitted under the baseboard by drilling a 10-12mm hole beneath the centre of your point tiebar. PL-9 mounting plates are needed to attach the PL-10E to the bottom of your baseboard. This method requires manual alignment and can be tricky if done for the first time. The standard PL-10 motor can also be attached beneath the baseboard and automatically aligns, although it needs a larger hole to function: see that model by clicking here.

PL-10E's are solenoid type point motors and work best with a 16v AC supply. The following Gaugemaster units are recommended:

• GMC-M1 - Cased Transformer (click here to view): large metal transformer, highly recommended for medium and larger layouts.
• GMC-WM1 - Wall Mounted Transformer (click here to view): smaller wall mounted plastic transformer, recommended only for smaller layouts.

We also recommend wiring your Peco motors up to a Capacitor Discharge Unit, or CDU. CDU's store up power in two large built-in capacitors and when the point motor is operated, discharges current in one big 'punch' giving the point motor a positive and firm switching action.
