One of the most popular locomotives of the Ffestiniog Railway, Linda is a member of the Penrhyn Main Line class of locomotives. Built in 1893 to an improve version of the Charles design, Linda worked the 'main line' of the Penrhyn, hauling trains of slate on the 6 mile narrow gauge railway between Bethesda Quarry and Port Penrhyn on the Menai Straits.

When the Penrhyn Quarry Railway closed in the early 1960's Linda moved to the Ffestiniog Railway and during that decade she was converted to Left-Hand drive, gained a tender and had her cab profile modified - the condition this model is represented.
