100 Manning Wardle L-Class tank engines were built in Leeds between 1881 and 1926. Built primarily for Civil Engineering Contractors, these unique looking little 0-6-0's were not only used in the UK but exported around the globe for worldwide use. They found use in various industrial settings and subsequently light railways too. Their distinctive characterful shape lead them to generate a following, this popularity culminated in two being preserved.

This new tooling Rapido model features a smooth running mechanism, all wheel pickup, factory fitted speaker, NEM coupling pockets and Next18 decoder interface. Each individual model features detail differences in the cab, steps, frames, wheels, buffers/bufferbeam, smokebox, valves, tanks and backheads. Both the cabbed and open cab versions have been produced.

This particular model has been produced in both DCC ready and factory fitted DCC sound. Derails are stocking both variants of this model and if the alternate version is available, it will be linked at the very, very bottom of this product page - if it no longer shows, it is no longer available.

Here at Derails we have pretty simple postage policy: if your order is over £20, you are eligible for FREE UK 'Regular' 2-4 day shipping. If your order is under £20, you are eligible for our super-cheap £2.99 Regular 2-4 day shipping. 

What if I need this item really quickly?

At the checkout choose one of our shipping option upgrades, either 'Express' Tracked 24 at £1.99 or 'Special Delivery' Next Day at £4.99. The upgraded postage options also jump the long despatch queue too, so they are shipped at the earliest possible opportunity. Please note that 'Express' and 'Special' upgrades are not available for orders with a total value under £20.
