The Diag. 1/801 Fish Vans were ordered by British Rail and built during 1960/61. These were the final diagram of Fish Vans built for the railway network and featured a 15ft wheelbase over a 21ft body, making an odd looking wagon! With roller bearings fitted they gained a 'Blue Spot' designation on the bodies. With Fish traffic declining in the late 1960's, these vans found themselves surplus and many were transferred over for parcels traffic, painted in the new Rail Blue with double arrows - others moved into departmental and engineer use, so they were seen all over the length and breadth of the country.

This Rapido model of the 1/801 Fish Van features a high quality detailed finish with detail differences between wagons (buffers, steps, etc) along with metal bearings to enable long trains to run with ease. Separate label boards will be provided for modellers to fit as they require.

The upgraded postage options also jump the long despatch queue too, so they are shipped at the earliest possible opportunity.
